> film and tv projects

Kyle has developed a number of projects for film and television, including work for CW, FX, ABC, Lion's Gate and MTV Films. Below is more on a few projects he's done for the wonderful world of moving pictures.

Armless Official TrailerARMLESS
An official selection of the
Sundance Film Festival 2010
and London's Raindance Film Festival 2010

"A low-budget, very odd diamond... Jarrow's sharp dialogue and crisp pace are stellar... a high quality film."
-Huffington Post

"Hats off to director Habib Azar and screenwriter Kyle Jarrow for setting up an outlandish premise (sad man wants his arms taken off) and delivering a fascinating little handful of thoughts, themes, and ideas that might actually make one feel better about THEIR own 'creepy little secrets.' That's a pretty impressive feat for a weird little micro-budgeted dark comedy." -Cinematical

Armless tells the story of a man who suffers from Body Integrity Identity Disorder, a real-life psychological condition in which an individual paradoxically doesn't feel "whole" unless he loses one or more major limbs. When he leaves his wife and goes to find a doctor willing to amputate his arms, it triggers a twisted romp filled with mistaken identities, missed chances, and tragic consequences. Armless utilizes the structure of a classic farce, combining it with a darkly philosophical tone. It also explores the ways in which a culture with so much wealth can come to fetishize suffering. But at its heart, Armless is a fable about acceptance—a meditation on trust, love and marriage. Habib Azar directs, Orson Pianka-Robbins was the director of photography, and the cast includes Janel Maloney (West Wing), Daniel London, Laurie Kennedy, Matt Walton, and Zoe Lister-Jones. THE ALL-FOR-NOTS

Streamy Award nominee

Kyle wrote some songs for the fictional rock band (think The Monkees but for the new millennium) that is at the center of the new show The All-for-Nots, on the internet and also broadcast on HDTV. Created by Kathleen Grace and Thom Woodley and produced by Michael Eisner. The NY Times wrote a feature on it (article here). You can watch the show here. Kyle was nominated for a Streamy Award for his work on this show.

THE LOSERS

A comedy for the internet starring Josh Gad (Back to You, Rocker, 21), Dustin Sullivan, Nell Mooney (As the World Turns), Perry Silver, Desiree Burch, Becky Yamamoto, and Noah Trepanier. Directed by Habib Azar. The story: Ryan (Josh Gad) suspects that his neighbor has committed a terrible murder... so he recruits his two misfit friends Benji (Dustin Sullivan) and Sunset (Nell Mooney) to help solve the crime. Together, they are THE LOSERS. It's like Scooby Doo meets Murder She Wrote, but not animated and not with Angela Lansbury. You can watch it here.
